I hope everyone is safe and sound. We are good here in our little prison. LOL.
Here is a list of my “likes” for this week:
1. My new mop-as I always say-it’s the little things.
Isn’t it cute?- still In it’s package. Hmm-maybe tomorrow. I’ve gone through several types of mops and none seem to do the job that I expect. ( Yeah, maybe I should lower my expectations.). Anyway, I’m ready to try something new again. I like the idea you can turn it over after the first side gets dirty and it can be thrown in the washing machine when I’m done.
2. Flattening my warped painting. Here’s the before photo of the painting:
Sometimes, if too much water is applied to the paper, it can warp. I do tape my paper down while I’m painting but it still happened. So I googled ways to fix it:ironing it!
Pretty cool, huh? Just a cloth on top while on the ironing board. Granted, I used a warm iron and soft touch several times. I’m so pleased. But. it also showed me how easily this can happen in the future.
3. Hanging my log cabin over the bed.
It’s just been sittting in a drawer!
4. Two great grandkids
Sorry bout the duplicates-it’s the only way blogger would accept the photo. I wish they hadn’t gone to San Diego for a vacation cause I fear for their safety but supposedly the family was careful. They sure look happy.
5. My Gold on Snow painting
Peaceful and fun to paint. This was an Ellen Crimi Trent tutorial.
I have been busy but get tired easily so I’m back on oxygen more than not but still taking it easy and gearing up to take care of Thomas this weekend. He is worth all the workouts.

Good morning Mary! I just ordered and received a whole bunch of cleaning supplies from Target. A new Shark steamer and a grout brush so I'm doing some deep cleaning this weekend. My new cleaner has the same type of cloth that can be flipped over and then thrown in the washing machine. The mops we've had have done a horrible job so my hopes are high. We'll see! Love the quilt as a headboard - it looks so nice. And your granddaughters are adorable! You painting is gorgeous - you are really developing your talent. I'm glad you enjoy it. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteThe great grands are cute. Love your painting. I try different cleaning products. Sometimes I love them, other times I think why did I waste my money.
ReplyDeleteYour Gold on Snow is wonderful! I’m glad you were able to flatten the other one!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful, strawberry blond/ red haired bathing beauties! Traveling seems scary to me too, but a lot of people are doing it!
I’ll be interested to learn if you like your new mop!im disappointed in mine lately too!
I never would have expected that you could iron a watercolor painting to flatten it out. That's pretty cool! Your painting is really beautiful, too. Cute little grands there, and enjoy your time with Thomas!
ReplyDeleteoh those littles with their open faces... love the "headboard" you created with "tapestry" and those paintings are great. Now how did you achieve the gold? pen or paint or ink? it's really standing out so I want some.
ReplyDeleteTravel is risky... very risky but there are people who ignore the risks, I suppose wanting to believe it's not real... I don't have that luxury as it's a sneaky virus. Tell your kids, even children without symptoms are showing lung scarring from having it... I say that here in case someone reading this doesn't know, not to frighten you. You can only try to guide your adult kids, they have the final say, and it's so hard to watch.
The grandkids are double the fun! How cute! Love your painting and the quilt above and on the bed. How cozy that room is now!
ReplyDeleteYay for the little things? The Gold on Snow painting is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI can’t wring out mops by hand so have to find ones with some sort of wringing device. Tony picked out my present one and I do like it okay. I’m glad you found one you like. Those grandkids are adorable and do look so happy. Love your quilt on the wall and I think the Gold on Snow is stunning. I never knew you could iron watercolours. Have a good time with Thomas.
ReplyDeleteSuch adorable grandkids!!! I love your "Gold on Snow" it is a wonderful and peaceful piece! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteGold on Snow is beautiful. I'll be interested in a review of your mop as I'm getting tired of the Swiffer and can't handle cleaning on hands and knees any more. Have a good weekend with Thomas.
