Greetings!
I'm really trying to have a positive outlook after some events lately. I posted the other day why I missed last weeks "likes" post. It's been non stop stress since then. Just keepin it real. But in the true spirit of this blog- here are my "likes" for this week:
1. Firemen in our community. Awhile back, I posted about my daughter becoming friends with the firemen and fire women in her neighborhood. Well, she got to be with them again. The day after I came home from the hospital, Tina got a call that 911 had been called for Thomas. (heart attack time).
He was on a field trip with his class and assistants parked on the sidewalk waiting for the city bus to return Tthem to school.. The assistant was not holding on to his wheelchair but said"here comes the bus". Thomas released the brakes and rolled into the street and tipped over on his side. The firemen who showed up knew Thomas and immediately were able to control the situation while attending to his needs. Mom dropped everything and arrived within minutes. One of the fireman suggested he(the fireman) ride with Tina in her car so Thomas would stay calm rather than in an ambulance. The hospital was less than 2 miles away. Isn't that the most thoughtful approach? Thomas was thrilled to have the fireman in the car even tho he was in pain from his injuries. He never complained the entire time.
Thomas is fine except for scrapes and bruises -xrays showed nothing broken and the brain shunt is ok. Amazing since the wheelchair weighs about 75 pounds. The accident did not keep him from eating when he got home.
Thank you God for taking care of my pumpkin.
2. My Three Wise Women towel:
3. My "Baby -it's- cold -outside" card
I think it's my favorite.
I am so glad I got everything done early for Christmas. Cards sent, gifts wrapped. I hope you all are enjoying this season. Hopefully, I'll feel better soon.
Have to go- the repairman is coming to fix the broken toilet. When it rains it pours -so to speak.

Hi Mary! Oh my goodness - I am so glad you shared a photo of Thomas. What a wonderful response team. And to ride in the car with Thomas?!! God bless them and thank you for what they do with their kind souls. {{Hugs}} a bunch for you. How stressful. Amen to the Wise Three Women - HAHA. I'm glad you don't have the additional stress of the holidays - good for you for having everything under control. Merry Christmas to you and your family. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeletewelcome back, it's a testament to your good heart that you can focus on the likes this week. The fireman is the kind of person I love, the kind who recognizes humanity. Thanks for sharing that story, I wonder if you mind if I put it in the together tuesday posts of stories about connections with others?
ReplyDeleteWow, you've been through a lot lately. I'm glad you're out of the hospital and that Thomas is okay. Love your Peace on Earth card.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to see you here, given what you've had on your plate. Poor Thomas! I hope things settle and go smoothly from here. I can see why that card is your favorite - very pretty.
ReplyDeleteMary, I just read your previous post, and that along with what happened to Thomas, is just an awful lot to handle! I hope you're beginning to feel better and find a solution to the heavy oxygen tanks. Your Christmas card painting is beautiful! Take care and have a good Christmas!
ReplyDeleteAh Mary, you are right if it's not one thing, it's another. Some weeks I think it is one thing after the other. Anyway, poor Thomas, thankfully ok but a little worse for wear. Yes, firemen and ambulance people are so wonderful. Makes you feel good knowing they are there. Glad to see you painting.
ReplyDeleteWow I missed you last week somehow. I am glad I keep you and your family in my prayers. So happy Thomas was not injured more severely. How wonderful to know people in your community.
